clicking sound from engine?

Hello,

Hopefully someone can tell me whether or not the clicking sound I hear from the middle of my engine bay is normal? It's a tick-tick-tick-tick sound...in a rhythm. As I rev the engine, the ticking gets louder?

Well its heard to tell with the tick-tick-tick-tick description you give..... This describes a lit of things!!! Most likely it your injectors. other thin that it might be a lifter or valve tap. there's my guess.

Injectors Tick tick tick.

Valve and lifters Tap tap tap.

wrist pins Tang tang tang.

And rod bearings Clack Clack Clack..... TRH.

listen with a stethescope touching the top of your vtc solenoids. be sure and check both banks. If you hear the noise loudest at either of these then it's most likely a cam chain tensioner that has worn down to the metal. We've seen a few of these come through the dealer doing this. the fix is a chain and tensioner.

Im getting a rapid "tick tick tick" from the middle of my engine as well. I'll have the hood up listening to it idle, and Ill hear it.. pull up on the throttle and the roar from the engine mutes it, but soon as Its back at a idle you can hear the "tick tick tick"
