clicking sound by shifter

When brake pedal is pressed i hear a click somwhere by shifter assembly.It only clicks once not a constant clicking sound likemy transmission does, each time i press brake pedal it clicks.i have a message that says brake light inop, i believe.I checked my brake lights they all seem to work fine whenpedal is pressed. any ideas?? thanks

Transmission interlock.

Are all bulbs OEM or Sylvania LL? All sockets and wiring OK and not burned or overheated?

Yeah, that's totally normal. It's just the shift lockout mechanism.
