I was driving the car to work the other day and I noticed the car started to run really rich. It started to stutter alot also. Like when i was taking off i had to give it more gas then normal. Well I shut the car off then tried to restart and it wouldnt turn over. So i started pumping the gas a little and that was when I heard a clicking noise. I popped the hood and pushed the throttle cable and Found out it was coming from somewhere around the intake manifold. Anyone ever have this problem or know what to do? Thanks

What year? What engine? I'm assuming that the key is on, but the engine is off? Are you sure that the noise isn't coming from the throttle body? How much throttle is given before the noise happens (full throttle only, part throttle, just off idle position, etc.)?

98 240sx ka24de, the key is on but the engine is off. The noise comes on at about any given throttle point except when my foot is not on the peddle. I am positive it is not coming from the throttle body.

even if you are sure it is not the throttle body it doesn't hurt to spray it down and clean it out with intake cleaner. if nothing else it will get rid of one possibility.
