I searched like crazy for my issue, found several things close to my problem, but no solutions. So here is my issue:I bought my 1990 240SX Fastback today, under the knowledge that there was a knocking noise in the bottom end at 2500 rpm. It almost completely subsides at 3200 rpm. He thinks that he spun a rod bearing. I think that its just a Metric F*** Ton of gunk, because when I was checking/adding oil, it was black. i added a quart to see if it helped. I think that once i drain the oil and flush the hell out of it... It should be good... but in case, I may replace the rod bearings. What else could it possibly be?
On another note, I had my car, driving it home, and it died while driving...twice. It just clunked and died on the highway. So the Roadside Assistance from the DOT came and jumped my battery... got me rolling... then, two miles later...dead again... so i think the alternator is toast. Any other ideas as to the culprit sucking battery's life out?
I'll be posting in the Pignose squad thread tomorrow...
