Hmm, so one of the side effects after installing my Nismo transmission mount, and new exhaust hangers was that theres a clicking sound that varies in speed/harshness with the speed/acceleration of the vehicle at thoes speeds.

The clicking can be felt/heard only under load, right underneath the arm rest.

I look under the car today to completee the drivers side upper link/tension rod/sway bar bushing, and I see a rubber spyder looking thing, right behind the transmission. It looks like it flexes to allow movement for the driveshaft.

However, there are fresh cracks in the rubber holding the driveshaft together.

It does look like the transmission is sitting higher, and the driveshaft is forced about 1~2 degrees steeper. The change is visibible by the way the rubber is bent around the lower screw.

The car has 210k miles. Looks like the first time the transmission mount was replaced by a harder new nismo one.

Could it be the rubber "spyder" is stressing out? Transmission is sitting too high due to the harder/newer transmission mount?

I doubt rubber will produce a clicking noise, so it seems to me something metal to metal is rubbing, and my best course of action would be to place washers between the car's frame and the transmission mounting bracket (held on by 4 14mm bolts, a big black bar).

Any thoughts?

I'll actually have the car on a lift on weds, So if i make any changes i'll make it then.

Ahh yes that stupid flex disc....... Crank up the rear wheels of the car and then slide under the car to see where its coming from...

Sound more like the transmission mount to me..sitting too high causing the rubber flex disc or "Guibos" (as someone on the club informed me) to stretch.

China, you should probably send back the nismo and get an OEM mount. If it's stretching that much the integrity of the guibos may have already been compromised. They are not items you can purchase separately if buying from the dealer..you have to buy the whole shaft. Don't pull the nuts on the guibos as they are not meant to be touched (per FSM).

I have a few (guibos) sitting in my garage but again...it wasn't meant to be pulled so..... Learned that the hard way when my mechanic pulled it during transmission replacement and am now dealing with some vibes. I am currently eyeing a drive shaft sitting on a Q in a junkyard. The shaft was pulled where it was connected to the diff, but the transmission side is still connected...

remember that his subframe bushings are shot so it could also throw the alignment out from that direction......
