I am considering buying a 2010 Altima Coupe 2.5s with a manual transmission. I test drove it with only 10 miles on it. Nice. I put an additional 10 miles on it, some on the highway. There is a noticable click sound when you let out the clutch. Doesn't matter if the car is moving or not, nor if you're even shifting or not. There's a click each time you let out the clutch. I probably wouldn't have heard it had the radio been on. The dealer had their service dept look at it a few days later. They told me it was normal and that it would go away in time. They said it was getting better already. I haven't driven it again to see if it's any better. Do you think this is normal? There are no other manual 2010 Coupes in the Denver area for me to compare. There's only the one. Driven lots of manuals but never heard a click before. Other than that, it's a great car. Haven't purchased it yet. Thoughts?

at what point is it making the clicking??

I have to say mine makes a tiny clicky click crunch sound, but its at the top where there is dead space, and it is not actually engaging the clutch..

It makes the clicking sound just as you are letting out the clutch. The dealer says it's a switch that's doing it, and that it will go away in time. But to answer your question, it is the sound of one click, one click only, as the clutch is being let out. The click sound happens at about the midway point as you're letting out the clutch.

Thanks for the response, Viper5000. I, too, believe the clutch is probably fine mechanically. But that click sound would begin to drive me crazy if it didn't go away soon after I bought it. I'd like to drive another new manual to see if it, too, had the click sound, but as I mentioned earlier, this is the only 2010 manual coupe not just in the city, but actually in the entire state! Getting tough to find manual trannys anymore.

Don't have a manual but the two Altima Coupes in manual that I have driven I didn't hear a thing.
