For those of you, including myself, who thought that the clicking was a universal joint:

I met a guy last week who just opened up his own independent shop. It turned out that he was a master nissan/infiniti tech for over 20 years and no longer wanted to work for a dealership. I mentioned to him that I had a clicking and that I thought that it was the universal joint. He knew exactly what it was and said that it was common for Infiniti rwd vehicles to make the noise from the axle splines. He said that removing the rear axles, re-greasing them, and installing them turned 180 degrees from the original spot, and a hub re-torque on each side would fix the issue.

I dropped off the 45 this morning and after a few hours in the shop (had a few other things done while I was there), I couldn't be happier with the ride.

Sorry, I'm located on the other side of the country in Atlanta.
I would rather be in SoCal sometimes.

yes. i also had this clicking noise, couldn't figure it out for a while. i kind of procrastinated on finding the root problem but my propeller shaft was 16 years old so then lifted it and found the u joint was going out. i replaced the entire propeller shaft with no issues. i got lucky and fixed the issue in time.
