Here is the story of my car.. I bought it to replace my '92 hicas 240 that I loved but she was rusted to hell and not worth putting money into anymore(good ol' natural weight reduction) , so one random wednesday before college started up for the fall I decided I was going to fly out to Cali andd pick up a car with no rust, since it wasn't the best thought out plan i had slim pickings, considering i had to start my trip friday if i wasn't going to miss class. Below is a picture of what I ended up getting and she ran awesome all the way home, I changed the oil and stored he away until spring because there was no way i was gunna let my car be another rusty ohio 240. fast foward to march of that year, she ran great for a month, then died out of no where. I changed everything I could think of, Messed with timing, got a fuel pump, and took it to a mechanic, no dice the KA was mysteriously dead..So This is what I did...

This is what I started with
Image

After some work and a brief KA-t moment
Image

Then she sat in a backyard for over a year.. and now my recent goings on...
Image

I decided I would go for a more clean look by filling in all the body lines on my car.
Image

And this is how she turned out after at least 4 weekends of sanding until I couldn't move my arms...
Image

The color is toyota super white with a super fine silver ghost pearl.

Me... friggen' exhausted... with the Duc in the background.

I finished the energy suspension, and that was a huge pain in the a$$ but its done and I have heard people say its worth it. so i got it on the ground and wheeled it out to the sun so it could cure the clear alittle.
Image

then I cleaned up the rb alittle and put on my new spec clutch (feels great on as far as pedal weight goes)
Image

Then some pics from a couple weeks ago

I just recently got a really clean interior out of my donor car, and am working on getting an exhaust and intercooler piping made, Rb runs great and I am really happy with the way my hard work has come out. In the future I am gunna throw some r32 gtr wheels on it and eventually some coilovers.

UNTIL NEXT TIME

Thanks Guys! For being my first real paint job, the paint came out really good and was exactly what I wanted. Next time I am home I will get it out in some good lighting so you can really see how it lights up, I used the pearl from paintwithpearl.com, and PPG paint.

Nice job... Car looks awesome. Actually working on the same exact thing myself right now. Hoping to have it all buttoned up and ready for paint here in a couple of weeks. Paint looks like it came out really well. Keep up the good work..

AS PROMISED! here are some much needed updates.
As she set before, after the paint had some more time to cure and I was able to get the car a little more put together.
Image
Image
Image
Then I waited for a sunny day, and off she was off to Corsa Performance for some pipe work
Image
While she waited for her exhaust, I picked up a few goodies.
Image
I finally tracked down the R32 GTR wheels I had been wanting, and procured some 300ZX TT Brakes and a 5-Lug conversion
Image
Here's a few pictures showing off the new kicks
Image
Image
Then I mounted the Intercooler, and had some help with making the hard pipes
Image
Photo Op !
Image
Suddenly---an exhaust... look at that pearl gleam!
Image
And I was finally able to bring her home
Image
Then, because we all know enough is never enough, and girlfriends love being ignored I did some more
TSX HID conversion
Image
Nismo Shift knob with new redline shift boot
Image
And this is how she sits, I have to admit I have been neglecting her since I got my S4...
Image

Thanks for reading!

Love the headlights. Did you do the conversion for the TSX projectors yourself?

Sure did! I like to do everything possible myself... that way I really know my car, and know it wasn't half a**-ed by someone who is unhappy with their job.
