Cleveland National Forest Meet&Drive

On Saturday I took a trip with a friend of mine to Julian which lead to a nice canyon run up in Mt. Laguna. This drive is not for beginners and it is a long drive through the mountains. From start to finish is about 2 hours I think but it is a really nice drive.

The start is at the 78 which goes up to Julian where we would make a right turn where we then take the 79. While on the 79 we can split up with folks who wants to take the short way back home or go onto Sunrise hwy. Both HWY leads back to the 8 fwy. Sunrise hwy is the route I took and it will lead us up to the 8 Fwy which is about 45 miles away from San Diego.

This is a long drive but it is well worth it and I do plan on going again so that is why I am seeing who wants to do this. This will happen after April 18th because I want my friend from Ohio to come along.

There are several turnout so we can park the cars for photos or change who wants to lead (those that want to go fast and those who want to just cruise). I do not mind taking lead to get to sunrise hwy but i would rather cruise it.

Here is the map to it. You can follow sunrise hwy to the 79 to the 78 or all the way to the 8 hwy. Forgot to mention bring a friend or family member to see the awesome views!

Seems like it would be fun. I've done the Palomar and Julian run before. I would like to do this but I wouldn't be able to it on the 24th.

Well, I was thinking of a Sunday afternoon before night falls since I have a Saturday class. Also being on a Sunday there might be less traffic.

For now I want to see how many folks we can gather for this run.
