I'm in the market for new wheels, but I plan to get a z32 brake upgrade/skyline gts-t brake upgrade soon. I need to know what the dimensions of a wheel would be that would clear these. I have a 93 240SX, no plans on a five-lug conversion, but if needed I can do it. I'd like 17 inch diameter, lightweight. I like those 5zigens that were posted, but my main concern was clearing the new brakes. btw I'm upgrading all the way around, not just the fronts.

Sorry to sound like a n00b...but suspension and wheels really aren't my strong suit:(.

1) Search **what? only 1000+posts? :P2) Be more specific3) Summary:It really depends on the specific wheel (EXACT MODEL :-) you get and how far back the spokes/bracing extends. For example: one model of S13 SE wheel will fit the 26mm calipers while a different model (same style) will not (they are both 40mm offset).

**edit: it further gets compounded by how wide the tire is as this affects how far the offset really is from the spindle (okay, now it's time for me to sound like a dumbass, that's the correct term for where the wheel bolts onto, right?)

Zero, spoke design can be critical when considering caliper clearance. You really won't know <for sure> without test fitting a wheel in person. Some shops will test fit for you, before committing to buy.

If you're interested in Rays wheels, their site has all sizes, offsets, and even what wheels will clear what brake calipers, including brembo options for specific cars.

http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/emenu/wheel.htmlThis is a list of all Rays wheels(left hand column), with size, offset, and fitment options for all.

...if you're considering Rays wheels...

Another easy way to find wheels to fit your Z32 upgrade would to be to go to a website that has an online fitment tool (i.e. tirerack.com or tires.com) and see what wheels will fit a 300zx. Which 5zigen wheels were you looking at?

True, true. Guess i should have clarified that you will have to cross reference offsets with what will fit on a 240. But it will give you an idea of wether the wheels design allows for large calipers or not.
