Touge is pronounced Toe-gay and is simply 2 cars starting at the top of a mountain and racing, all out, to the bottom. most balanced car of braking, turning and acellerating wins

The people that actually run the Touge run both uphilll and down. A very dangerous way to spend one's time. Tougeprs13, I don't see your poll asking which members drive what touge cars anymore, but last time i saw it, you had zero votes and zero replies. You alluded to participating in such races on mountain roads. In another post, you mentioned you are in high school. Professional drivers have closed circuits to run touge races....mountain roads which are closed to the general public while the pros make runs both up and down the course. If you are in high school, something tells me that you and your buddies can't put enough cash together to either rent a circuit or have a road closed for your races. This means you're racing on a public road at dangerously high speeds, and if you're on a mountain road as you say, then you're also racing next to a very steep cliff. Does it get any dumber than this?? Leave the Touge-style racing to the professionals. If you insist on risking your life, and the life of other motorists/pedestrians/hikers, don't ever come to this state.

OK, so we don't see eye to eye on much, but you've got to see the stupidity in this. Lets say your girlfriend is having a picnic with the family at some quiet park up in the hills, and here comes hotshot kid and his buddy... kid slams into your girlfriend's car cause he thinks he's a touge racer yo. The collision kills both drivers on impact...or maybe sends one car over the cliff. What tune would you be singing then? The idea is great, and of course it's fun to carve up a twisty road....within a disciplined amount of reason and speed.....but it would be best left to the professionals on closed circuits. Would you at least agree to that, Holisticbeatz ??

My friends and I do not do the sanctioned events. Its like street racing we go off and do it elegaly. as far sationed evens I know of a few, you need a roll cage though, i dont have that. Touge started in Japan, people simply wanted to see what there cars could do. Drifting was an offshoot of this twords the end of the night observers would through sand onto the corners. that is how the first tail out slides through corners were started. and lastly we do this late at night so incase the national naraleptic assosiaction is having a 2am picnic we arent at that much of a risk of hitting hikers/ picnicers.

you are now considered an idiot in my book. first of all. it is ILEGAL. not elegal. second you are obviously not even reading what smithsr is saying. You could kill yourself and others. It is more dangerous than street racing which is also frowned upon by many people on this board. outright admitting that you do something illegal after someone tells you you are doing something stupid if you are doing something illegal is, well stupid.I think you gotta grow up a little and realize that you are not invinceable.

man i already flamed you in your other brilliant thread, but this post takes the cake. Glad you can pronounce touge, any idiot who can read english and SCC knows that. Actually as touge racers kept pushing their cars to the limits they began losing control in turns during a race. It became a great show of driver skill to control these slides (drifts) and not crash. Hence drifting was born to show off a drivers skill of be able to control a car at all times. Where in the hell you read they threw sand onto the roads to drift is beyond me? Look at all the drifters throwing sand onto tracks to drift!!! I've never seen it and if you are personally doing it, then you are even more of an idiot which is quite possible at this point.

I've done a search on your posts and all you've had to contribute are some fake a$$ "ricer" comments. it may have been clever at first. but now it's just getting old. I'm guessing that your intention from the start was to get people all riled up and therefore you are counting on getting banned eventually so I'll just ignore you from now on. if you thought you'd be funny for a while, give it up, your joke has gone too far and no one here is stupid enough to take you seriously.Goodbye.

Touge...or toe-u-gay is basically just a mountain peak in Japanese, or a pass through a mountain crest, if that makes sense. Just for further reference.

By the way, I've personally seen sand thrown on the tracks during drifting events in Japan. I'm probably not as knowledgable of racing techniques as some of you, but I'd just like to make it clear that it does happen...wether or not it's correct is beyond me, but I've seen it done.
