I thought id post this incase anyone runs into the same issue that i had...got a set of stage 3 crower cams with 10.19 lift on em..verry cool cams...but one minor problem..they hit the spring retaining walls and would not spin..i did a little homework on the waterjacket desighn and decided to grind to clear them....i have photo's on my myspace page ...
directions for a removed head only(as valves need to be removed)
#1.) remove cams and caps..
#2.)remove valves and springs..
#3.)add prelube to all cam seat area's
#4.)replace cams...retorque to factory spects (or cam desighners specs) and slowly spin till lobes approch a high spot....donot force cam .
#5.) mark with a permant ink pen like a sharpie..or carefully use a punch to make a mark (what ever you feel comfotable doing)..you can safely rotate cam to get 2 valve area's at each stage of cam removal.
repeate for both sides and for all valve spring areas..remember to relube and clean clean clean all cam seat area's before and after grinding.
tools needed....................small die grinder or dremel tool...strait edge hand files sm....not half round or any other files..rubber abrasive wheel(optional).thats about it..of course the tools to remove the head if its not on your bench allready.
here is the addy for the pic's to give you refrence too..allso shows all the other work ive been doing to my ka24de project.
