i just bought a set of mesh wheels from a junkyard, 15x7 +17 5x114. they are going on my S14 when i get it, but i will be putting them on the same time i do a 5 lug swap and Z32 upgrade.

i doubt they will fit with the Z32 brakes, there is only 1/2" offset from the mounting face to the back of the spokes. i will probably need a spacer. i really doubt anyone can tell me with enough accuracy what size spacer i would need so i can do this all at once, i just want an educated guess. i will use these as my new wheels with the five lug swap if they are close, but if i have to get something too big, i will just get some other wheels and sell these.

if someone with z32 brakes feels like doing me a favor, lay a straight edge across the rotor face where it meets the wheel, and measure how far the caliper sticks out past that plane.

thanks

I don't have my car here right now to measure buy I can tell you it is probably more than 1/2".

Are you sure that they will fit in the 15" rim you have. I know with the OEM S13 15" only the 28mm brakes fit or something. I can't remember if it was due to the spoke design or the rim size.

Are you using the 26mm calipers, or 30mm calipers?

i'll be using the 26mm calipers.

some of the s13 15" wheels over the 26mm calipers. the others don't fit, and none of them fit over the 30mm calipers because of spoke design.

Your'e right. ...but I don't think those mesh wheels will clear your z32 calipers, it's more a question of spoke design than offset. I have 7-spoker SE alloys and i can *barely* fit my pinky finger between the wheel and caliper. It's very close. I figure mesh wheels, as gorgeous as they are, and as much as i would like a set myself, aren't convex enough to clear em.

I'm currently running 30mm z brakes w/ 15's but I needed a 10mm spacer because of the offset, but they are kosei k1's so the spoke design makes em a little easier to fit.

after thinking about it, i think i'm going to sell these wheels. i want something a little bigger and higher offset and it doesn't make sense for me to have two sets of wheels. i'm tempted to do the 5 lug swap and save the brakes for later just so i can rock these wheels for a while.

if anybody wants them, let me know. otherwise i'll make a post in the FS section.
