true..but im talking at start up for people that are just starting up the motor. just to see if the lifters filled up wit oil right or whatever...it would look nice to for a certain amount of time. or to see purple running through it.

I'm sorry Bo, but I get dumber with every post of yours that I read on here and dragsource. So when are you going to build the RB up anyways?? Are you going to have it ready by next summer?

To answer your question though, it would probably look kinda cool installed before startup. After that, they would look like poo. Not to mention they would have to be made of some type of plastic in order to be clear. Plastic+200* to 260* oil don't go together well. If they didn't melt, they would definitely fatigue and fail over time.

And you won't see the lifters pump up. It's not like they move 5-10 mm when they "pump up". They maybe move 1mm and you wouldn't be able to tell with the cams running them over all the time.

what about a clear engine block, how much boost do you think it will hold?

Unless clear plastic melts at a lower temp, I think it would be do-able. Most bmw valve covers are plastic. Some have fatigue problems but for the most part they are durable. I think a clear cover would be pointless on an engine that would actually run. but it would be cool for a show car...i guess...

Clear valve cover would look cool on a show car with some led on the inside of the covers...lol but after driving it im sure it would look like someone threw wet mud on a glass window.....ewwww

Would look like s*** (literally) after a while (oil).

And how often would someone be looking at your engine when you start it up? lol I never try to watch my engine while someone starts it up...

If the car never moved, I guess it'd look cool.
