i like those clear tails, but if i were to make my own, what product would i actually buy because the lights on our cars are not covered by an outer lens, my bros maximas tails were covered by a plastic lens and then the amber was in the light, we cleared those out but this is a different case, should i just use the cover that they use for ceiling lights in office buildings?

Laws vary from state to state, but pretty much everyone requires you to have some sort of red reflector in the rear, regardless of bulb color. Look around, completely clear rearends are no where near as common on the road as they were 5 years ago. In the front though, you can usually get away with completely clear housings with colored bulbs.

I actually saw a JDM clear tail light set (even had the center 180sx piece clear) on ebay about six months ago. They were listed for 899$ plus shipping from Japan. Noone bought them, imagine that.

Honestly, on a black car I think they'd actually look pretty nice. This coming from someone who _HATES_ clear/altezza tail lights.

i agree, on a black car they would be especially nice, but i was watching some drifting videos and there was this red fastback that had completely clears, with the center piece and it looked bad ***! just my opinion though

In IL, I believe as long as you have amber/red lights in the back you will be ok. For the front, the color of the bulb doesn't matter as long as the light is white.
