Well for starters, they drive on the left side of the road and the kick-up is on the wrong side for the US. Don't think anyone in their right mind would want to bolind oncoming drivers, let alone assume the liability for selling the wrong lens for the US.

The high beams - they're focused to one side - it'd be the wrong side in the States. You'd have them pointed at oncoming traffic, instead of the shoulder, like they're supposed to be.

I guess in theory you could always just take off the lenses and put them on the USDM headlights.....

Still itd be easier to find someone that can do it...

come to nyc and see all the hid kits shining bright in your rear view mirror.

I want HID's but would love some clear lenses. I was trying to get a body shop to do them but the guy seemed to busy to deal with me.

Has anyone tried sanding the lights down?

Would that work? Would that work?

At some point I checked on that with a company that specializes in custom HID kits... (not plug-n-play) and they said that they could not grind/sand the optics out of glass lenses - only plastic ones. So the answer I got was "no"...

Some of the headlights you see from Japan are the stock lights that have been sanded down. Now, I dont know if they are plastic or glass.Others you see are factory headlights from the late model Q45.

There are some Japanese sites that offer the sevice ( http://www.hiltop.jp)

They charge around 25,000 yen to give your lights that crystal look.

The tail lights look great when they sand and polish both sides.

No, it is the low beam kick-up pattern. In the US and other drive on the right countries, it is on the right. In Japan and ohter drive on the left countries, it is on the left.

Pull your car 30' infront of a plain wall some night and it is readily apparent.

Result of using wrong county headlights is you will blind oncoming drivers and be blind to advisory signage on the right shoulder.

This is all in a previous thread along with some pretty serious denial of reality by some members.
