No...It's definately not the clear coat. It has a very defined shape to where it ends. It really does look like a film overlay of some kind.BBISHOPPCM wrote:You sure it's a film? It's possible that you might be seeing the edges of the clear coat (which would be a bad thing).
Hmmm...I'll have to look at it again later (it's my wife's car and I'm at work).I suppose it could be a mold line, but it didn't look like one. It's hard to explain in writting. When I get a chance I'll see if I can capture it well in a photo and post it here so you can see what I mean.bosoversa wrote:what youre seeing is the mold line of the bumper. it looks like a film at first but its just a little raised mold line. about a millimeter or two from the edge of the bumper right?
That's awesome! Thank you! I have no intentions of trying to put that stuff on myself. I'd screw it up. I found a detail shop that has the pieces laser cut on-site and then installs them. They wanted $700 to do the full bumper, half-way up the hood, the crest of the front fenders, and the side mirrors. If the bumper is already done, that price should come down quite a bit because it's the single biggest piece!KimberKenobi wrote:My friend, it is exactly what it looks like - clear film. And it is on the front bumper, rear bumper, and there are two 'L'-shaped spots on the back doors. Last time I looked, there was not a 3M dealer on eBay that would sell just the hood and mirrors... but there may be now.
Versas are awesome!! ;oD
