Clear Film Kits.

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I had posted in one of my threads that I had gotten the 3M film kit (xpel) put on. Sorry for the delay in getting the photos posted. Spring is here and my car is not that clean right now and it is hard to clean it properly.

The images are huge so I will just include the links.

A so so picture of the film on the shift knob

I did the full kit, plus the painted roof piece back to the sunroof.

The hood piece (I am not sure I captured it in the pictures) but it somewhat scoops in the middle as opposed to straight across. They call this the bikini cut.

It's not cheap but worth the money, IMO. It was close to $900 for the hood, nose, fenders and mirrors on my G.

did you buy the kit and do it yourself or did you have it installed for you? I want to buy a kit and do it myself to save some money.

My local Infiniti service manager owns the local 3M installation business so I simply ordered it from him and had him install it. The cost above was with installation. For 3M to honor their 5yr warranty you have to have it installed by a certified 3M dealer.

by the way, it is the bikini cut for the hood. there are two versions for the hood, the standard one and the bikini cut one. I wonder which one will give you the most coverage?

I know the installer fairly well, so my price was $740 CDN.

The kit included:

Bikini Cut hood, fenders, full bumper, mirrors, rear bumper (flat portion).

Extra, roof piece (full width between roof rails back to the sunroof, shift knob.

Whether "standard" or "bikini" cut, either of these at the beach would probably give about the same coverage!!

It's about 1/3 of the hood that is protected so what ever one that is. I'm glad I have it as there is rock chips around the headlights that I need to touch up and the nose under the paint is black. Interesting as the nose under the paint of my Maxima, which is Majestic Blue, is white and the chips show horribly.
