Hey guys, i moved down to Southern California about a year ago and I've noticed that the clear coat on my spoiler is starting to chip and bubble under the hot SoCal sun. I was wondering if there was a way that I could repair this myself inexpensively. My idea was to wet sand the original clear coat off and then just buy a can of clear coating from PepBoys or Autozone and spraying a couple of layers on myself. Does that sound correct? Or is there more to it than that? I've read other posts by people talking about sanding it down to bare metal and applying primer, paint, clear coat. Problem is I don't want to have to go through the hassle of trying to match the green on my car and sanding it down all the way. I wanted this to be a quick easy job. Any suggestions? As far as I can tell, only small spots of the clear coat is chipped off and bubbling. Thanks!

i would think it would be pretty difficult to sand the clearcoat without damaging the paint in some way. unless someone else corrects me, i wouldnt try it.
