An option to consider when it comes to preserving your car is a clear bra. This is one reason why my 2003 still looks new.

There are options that include covering the bumpers, front fenders, headlights and hood. Great protection against bugs and rocks.

This picture was taken at the end of a cross country road trip.

Its a great investment. I have one on my 07 camry and it has been a life saver. From what I understand, since 2005, paint has been watered down to meet new enviorment laws. Chips are worse than every. The 3M clear bra is by far one of the best things you can do to protect your vehicle.

When done right you can hardly notice the film. You can make out a line on the hood in the 2nd picture. From that point down is covered with a 3m clear bra.

This may be a silly question, but can you get a clear bra to cover the whole hood?

Clear bras are quite difficult to put on. I have seen many horrible installs. I would not take the chance, get it done professionally. It is pretty hard to find a clear bra installer much less a good one.

You can get the clear bra anywhere, including the entire hood. The basic install usually includes about half of the hood, all front bumpers/fender/so on. The reason mine stops short is because of the big bulky front of the camry.

If anyone is around new orleans/metairie area I know of two amazing installers.

I'll try to post a pic for you but my bra covers about 95% of the hood.

That would be great because when I get my A/C, I'll want to protect it as much as possible.

Front Fender[IMG][/IMG]

You can see how the entire hood is covered except for the triangular areas on either side.[IMG][/IMG]

It is safe to take off the bra. It will pretty much peel off for the most part. I paid 450 for the basic install. You will probably get a good 65% of the hood on an a/c with the basic install.

Sure - then what happens when they get chipped??

Compare the price of the bra to the price of getting the hood and bumper repainted - once repainted it is still unprotected so this is where the clear bra begins to make sense.
