Cleaning your engine bay!

I've heard many people say to use degreasers and high pressure water to clean up your engine bay. I was considering this but it would be my first time and having an old engine with alot of loose wires is kinda scary. Anyone have any input on how to do this? thank you very much!

Lots of grocery bags and tape...tie the important stuff off! There's a thread on here about this somewhere, it's what I went by when I cleaned mine.
