Runners are all officially removed. How do we clean out the oil and grime without dropping that dirt into the open intake portion of the head? Is there something I can place in the ports to keep fluid and dirt out as I clean up gasket material,,baked on oil and dirt and grease? Would love to see the aluminum color of the heads again.

I used simple green and it worked very well. PB blaster worked well for the caked on stuff. Intake should be stuffed with paper or spongey material, or tape... something to prevent dropping anything like screws or that such down in there

sorry! i didn't quite explain myself. my only concern is trash and fluid puddling up in my cylinders, especially with the hydro thing with our cars.i have the means to clean down to the bare metal, but don't know what to use to keep all moisture out the head and cylinders. i thought of paper and cloth, but eventually they will soak and gravity bleed into the cylinders. i also want to prevent what i use from getting stuck.

You can pack the intake ports with the blue "shop quality" Scott Paper Towels. Just roll the towel up like it is a cone and stick it in deep. The blue shop towels are super absorbent. If you see the towel getting soaked, just pull it out and replace it.
