Another poster suggested this thread, and I've been wondering about the best ways to preserve and protect the black paint on my new G37. I bought a California duster, but am assuming I need to get and keep a good coat of wax on the paint. Any suggestions on a brand or product to use? Any other tips anyone would like to share for keeping these cars looking nice?

Zaino products are by far the best, especially for black because they leave no residue. They have great tips for detailing on their site.

Be careful with that duster. Black really shows swirls. Make sure it is clean. Never use anything but 100% cotton towels or washcloths on it. Try not to wash/wax it in direct sunlight.

another vote for Zaino!!!!!!!

I just did mine...takes all day.

1. Wash the car with dishsoap2. Clay the car with Zaino car wash as a lube3. Wash car with Zaino car wash4. Polish with Z2 and ZFX accelerator

Check out the zaino store for details...I've used it for years and it works!

I use Armor-All streak free car wash, Clay from a local automotive paint shop (it cost me $30 too!), ICE clay lube, ICE car polish, and then I finish everything off with Meguiar's cleaner wax.

I actually just detailed my G Saturday... and now it's getting rained on...

Good post.

Zaino vote from here also.

Also as others suggested use only microfiber towels and use it lightly.
