Are Mr. Clean Magic Erasers safe for cleaning on wheels, alloy, steel, etc. ?

Scratch Removers - Nu Finish orange bottle does this product and other brand names actually strip the paint away???

My fathers 97 camry has some scratches while parked at a grocery store years ago.

Mr. Clean magic erasers are less abrasive than say a brillo pad but are nearly chemical equivalent of using 409 on whatever you are trying to clean. I use them in the household for sinks, counters, showers, etc. They do okay on the stainless appliances but I feel like they leave a film. I've used them on the walls before to get off scuff marks but found that it can start to remove the paint.

As for the scratch removers - not too much experience on this one so I'll pass.

For a scratch remover just go to your nearest auto store (AutoZone or Schucks) they have a huge variety of scratch removers to use. Just ask them which one would be best for you car and color. :D

Does anyone else's dashboard area seem to get REALLY dusty? Mine is and I find it hard to keep it clean. I usually use those Armor All (however you spell it) wipes for cars and than I wipe it down with a shammy afterwards. Any tips?

Those Swiffer dry cloths work great for dusting the interior of the V, try that and see if you like it. For the vents, use a cotton swab or Q-tip.

i just use a swiffer duster to dust, then i go over it with a microfiber and Black Magic anti-dust spray... just spray some on the microfiber, and hit every place on the dash and your good to go... repels it for a little while at least.

I believe the Mr. Clean magic eraser things actually have a small amount of bleach in them. Probably not good for your car, but for stoves, sinks, grout and tile...perfect!

Check Wal-Mart or some store of that sort in the automotive section u'll find different products that may do the job safely... Otherwise good luck with the magic eraser...

For wheels, I wouldn't use anything too abrasive unless the brake dust is really caked on. I like to use wheel cleaner sprays (from various brands) that act as a degreaser, you just let it sit a while after it foams up and then spray it off with high pressure water. It won't get everything, but then you can hit each wheel with a rag/sponge and finish it up nicely without too much scrubbing effort.

I've been happy with 3M's scratch remover, and you can never go wrong with products from Mother's or Meguiar's, either. I don't know about "stripping the paint away" - there's likely an abrasive quality to scratch removers (kind of like a really gentle rubbing compound/polish) but when the scratch isn't metal-deep, they do a great job. They can't put paint back where it is completely gone, though.

Nice waxes like Meguiar's Gold Class and Zymol also have some scratch reducing qualities to them, and make a nice follow-up to spot treatment with scratch removers.
