I remember people posting questions about how to clean this stuff. I have read a few suggestions including the use of WD40 among other things to clean. And, I tried a few of them with mixed results.

Tonight I thought I might try something else. Purple Power cleaner... you've probably seen in on the shelves at autoparts stores.

Anyway... dumped a little of it, undiluted, on a terry cloth towel. Then, just rubbed the various trim areas, and the rubber around the moon roof. It worked much better than anything else I have tried at getting the gunk, old wax, crud off the rubber.

The Purple Power stuff is pretty strong, so I thought it would be best to wash the car afterward just to make sure it was off the paint. It looked great on its own... nice and black, didn't look like it needed treatment at all.

I know Q45tech reccomends Wurths treatment for the rubber around the moon roof, but I've never heard of that stuff and can't find anyplace to buy it near me. So, I just treated everything with my old standby...Vinylex. It worked find, blackened everything up nicely and helped soften the rubber a bit.

Anyway...add this to the PowerBall Mini + PlaxtX for those of you interested in detailing your Q's. I'll see if I can find any great ideas on how to clean other things that no one cares about.

High Quality expensive tire dressing is an alternative to WURTH.

Cleaning rubber with too harsh a product opens up the pores and removes the ozone protection so you MUST recoat and reseal.

I don't know which search engine you use but WURTH USA is 2 and 1 on Google

Silicone additive rubber products are not as good as advertised for rubber parts...........Wurth is Silicone free.

THe wurth website does not list a dealer local to me, though. So, I am still trying locate some without having to order via the intarweb.

Vinylex does an effective job of cleaning and treating rubber. It is actually designed as a restorer, not simply a sealer.

vinylex and 303 aerospace protectant are fabulous products-303 is the only thing I use on the leather and dash to sheild UV rays- a little too expensive to use on trires that are replaced every 2 years anyway.

You have to get it through an independent jobber. I can, if any one has difficulty. Only problem is there would be shipping and TX tax.

Is Wurth sort of like BG in this regard... not available via retail? I suppose I should probably check with my local BG guys. Maybe they carry Wurth as well.
