Well seeing as my car will (hopefully) be running by the end of the week - I decided I'm going to clean out the WHOLE car.

I have not taken out the carpet - But I'm shampooing it in the vehicle - It already SMELLS like a newer car

Anyway - I was pulling out the junk in my trunk. . .

The stuff in the trunk of the 240 and came across some Dynomat material. The stuff for deadening sound and what not, and I want to remove it.

The only way to get it out is pull on it? I'm limited to chemicals because I'm at my house - but i do have acetone.

Anyone have any better ideas - I'll come back in shortly to check - but onwards to the seats!

I'm using a carpet cleaner I got from when I was working at Nissan dealership. The guys that clean the cars in the back are pretty cool - But its made by turtle wax and there is a brand that is relatively the same - Its the turtle wax OXY power out carpet cleaner - It comes with some little brush to get the deep stains out - Its working fantastically.

And thanks for the info on the dynomat. I'll have to figure something out - Because I don't know of anyone who has dry ice.

Some grocery stores do. I used that stuff on my s14 seats. Good stuff. Is it the stock sound deadening material or actual dynomat?

Actual dynomat - apparently the owner before me kept the car completely stock minus the sound system.

Which is probably why the trunk is a bit loose.

O in that case peel it off and use something to the effect of goo gone to get what is left over off. That should work. Sorry I thought you were talking about the stock stuff.

Heat gun would help that was my arsenal when I removed the fabric off my door panel.

Its done now ha - Thankfully I just started pulling and it SLOWLY peeled away.

It was one piece left that was about a 2' by 2'. It just looked ugly - Think I'm about to attempt to put the belts back on. Mind you - I messed up and removed the belt tensioners

Might be fun. Or a PITA. O well - I'm just excited my car is soon to be driveable. And for all that care I got the wheel bearings pressed and ready to go.

Is the dust shield really "required". Mine got a bit bent up in the process of removing the hub assemblies.

It keeps water and dirt out of the rotors, as long as it isn't missing, it should be fine.

Mine is completely flattened out because I had to accommodate for my Q45 brakes.

Does no one here have a job?!?! haha - thanks for the quick reply guys!

I hope to work all through the day and see how far I can get - Trying to find how to run these belts now and make sure I'm not missing any bolts from the removal of the belt tensioners

No tacky or gummy feeling that I felt - But its cold so it probably pulled everything up.

Granted it looked like it had been in there for ages ha
