Cleaning MAF???

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

I've got some jap junkyard **** built up in this thing... any suggestions on a good way to clean this thing out thuroughly? Maybe a can of duster could do the trick?

i've read that people use carb cleaner to get soot out... but dont bang the maf or pry at the soot near the sensor..

do NOT use carb cleaner, it will burn the sensor. if anything use throttle body cleaner or possibly some of that electrical spray

interesting... didn't know that. i guess electrical contact cleaner would be the best way to go

ill reidderate NO CARB CLEANER.

yes an electrical connection cleaner works best, make sure its 110% dry before it goes back in or you destroy the sensor, or worse.

Is there anyway you can check to tell if the maf has damage prior to installing it? I'd hate to have this thing screw everything up cause of a damaged sensor

not really. i wouldnt worry about it, odds are its OK.
