Anybody can provide me some guidance on how to take out the hose coming from the Air filter to the Throttle Body so I can clean my MAF Sensor and Throttle Body? I have loosen the two clamps around the ends of the hose and compressed the hose but it takes a lot of compressing to get it out. I didn't go further because I think I am doing something wrong. Please help. I think I need to clean these to fix my loss of acceleration problem.

Is this something I can trust my local mechanic and to do and what is a reasonable charge for this service?

Hi there Kots, sorry for the late response. I have not done this job on my 08 Rogue as I've only got 48,000km so I am not able to comment from experience.

How many miles do you have on your Rogue and are you still under warranty?

If you have a significant loss of power under acceleration I would kind of doubt cleaning the MAF and throttle body will solve the problem, but it can't hurt. Normally this type of service isn't required on newer vehicles, it takes years to accumulate deposits to the point of noticing performance issues. If you're noticing a significant loss of acceleration I think a trip to the dealer might be in order, they can perform a diagnostic and hopefully diagnose the problem so you can quickly resolve the issue.

If you want to go ahead with the throttle body cleaning, I'd advise downloading the service manual which is available here:

Check that out and let us know how things go....
