I have taken everything apart to clean my MAF, per Q45.org.

The airbox top is extremely dirty on the outside, as are all of the components. I would like to clean them up inside and out. What is the safest method to do so? I don't want to just spray them down with the hose if that might do damage.

Also, I have not yet cleaned my TB... good idea to do that now with everything apart? Or, should I do these jobs one at a time to see how the engine reacts?

Quick help would be appreciated, as I have the parts disassembled and laying on the table in front of me.

Thanks.

I cleaned all of the plastic parts on the airbox assembly with Formula 409 and scrub brushes, and shined them up with Armor All. Be careful with the MAF and connector but the rest of the parts should be fine as long as you dry them out before putting it all back together.

I usually (3 times) clean the MAF and TB at the same time. Even after letting it dry for the recommended hour she will still run rough for the first few minutes. Don't be discouraged. There's a noticeable improvement after each cleaning. Scrub away.

In the past I've cleaned the throttle body at the same time.Just remember to be really gentle with that MAF element...
