Hey everyone, just bought my wife an '00 I30T with only 69,000 miles on her last night. Love the car, very clean and nice. The car is in awesome shape, but when we turned on the headlights last night, noticed that there is some sort of haze buildup either on the outside or inside of the headlamp assembly, on the clear plastic. My main knowledge comes from DSM's, and I remember the '95-96 Eclipse/Talon headlights had a type of haze that could be polished away to look like new again, but this looks a little different as the entire headlight isn't covered. Do you all have any ideas on how to fix? I'm sure someone's gone through this already. Thanks a bunch!

If they are not too yellow just try Maguiars Plast-X.

If they are terrible then try Permatex Headlight Restoration.

I used the Permatex system and followed up with the Plast-X and now my headlights are super-smooth and clear.

i bought some super fine sand paper for wet sanding, i think it was the finest you can get. first wet sand the headlight, then use the polishes airhunt is speaking of for the best results.

Could the build-up be on the inside of the lense?

That is less likely. The biggest thing that causes this is the sun and weather. If you just wax your lenses like you wax your car, it will not happen. The best option (once the haze is cleared) is to buy [URLwww.lamin-x.com]Lamin-X[/URL] clear protective film and install it. No more haze!
