Hey i pulled my pistons and was wondering if i could use a wire brush to clean the top of the pistons and then use carb cleaner for the rest?

I just wanna know how to get off the big carbon buildups without messing up the top of the piston.....

Pitted piston procedure.

Gently clutch piston by the barrel.Walk outside.Aim for a window of a neighbor you hate.Throw as piston hard as possible.Run like a mofo back inside and start acting innocent.Turn on the intarwebs.Order new pistons.

Why try to remove the carbon? The carbon is insulating the piston from heat and increasing your compression ratio

Doesn't that right there mean it's time to get new pistons?

umm... duffman gave you a link... you said your piston was pitted.. themadscientist and s13love were both stating that if it's pitted, it's ruined...
