cleaning CAI?

im about to order the cleaning kit from AEm for the filter and i was wondering if anyone has done this yet or if anyone has replaced the filter yet.

i blow mine off/out a few weeks ago. i was going to order some clean but...didnt.how long have you had your CAI on???

Your suppose to do it every 15k miles. Remove the filter and brush off any excess dirt off of the filter. If you used compressed air to blow it off, do not blow directly on it. Blow from the inside out so you don't force dirt into the filter. Generously spray the cleaner over the filter. let sit. Rinse off with water from inside out. Naturally dry filter, do not leave in the sun.

The actually cleaning takes is pretty short, just waiting for the filter to dry. I found the best time to do it is in the evening if im not planning on going out. That way i let the filter dry over night.

Depending on how dirty your filter is, you should notice an improvement on sound and power.

ok that sounds easy enough, im ordering it tommorow so hopefully its n soon, and its been a while since i put it on ( i drove to florida and back with it too) i wanna say 20k at least

Some (maybe not the AEM) filters require a light oil after cleaning. Be careful with that...and an easy way to dry the filter is to spin it. Again, be careful not to get wet but the small amount of water left after a few spins is NOT going to hurt anything and may just help.
