After searching with no result I have decided to start a new thread. I posted in this section because I figured I would get the best responses. I recently bought an exhaust cam out of a 92 240 but it has some surface rust. I was wondering what the best way to clean it off would be? I was told to soak it in auto trans fluid for like 2 days and then finish cleaning it with a fine grit emory cloth. Just trying to get a few good responses before I do this.

Thank You

it doesnt need to be clean

unless your talking about the lobes, then scrub them real hard and be carful using abrasives, they can change it

Install and run it. Thats basically all you have to do. Just make sure you change the oil relatively quickly:~300 miles, maybe less.

edit: cheap oil is your friend for stuff like this.
