damn me for not taking 'before' pics. You wouldnt have believed how nasty it was. red clay on top of a ton of grease. from 50 feet away it looked like i had an orange blanket over the engine and stuff. anyways, without further adu.

Yeah, I'm curious too. How did ya do it? I need to give my engine a good cleaning soon. I'm thinking it's gonna take some degreaser and a whole lot of scrubbin'.

First I sprayed it down with purple power, waited a couple minutes and resprayed the worst parts. Then I used a little hand-held steam shooter thing which is probably optional because it really didnt seem to do jack.

Then i brought the car to a DIY carwash place, covered the altermator, distributor, and coil and soaked it in purple power again then used high pressure water to rinse it off.

When i got home, i used about 1/3 bottle of armor all on painted, rubber, and plastic surfaces and let it soak in. Waited about 10 minutes and wiped off the excess armor-all :)

i detail cars at a dealer, and for engines, we first cover anything that cant get wet with plastic and rubber bands. then we spray down the whole engine with degreaser then take wash mits and wash main parts. then we use a pressure sprayer to spray it off. then just dry it with shop towels and use armorall on the hoses and rubber and plastic parts and it will look great.
