I removed his previous thread as too many regular members took a crap all over his thread

Here's his original question
clean9945 wrote:Hey i guys im new to the infiniti scene, but not the luxury scene. i have previously owned a bmw 7 series and a lexus sc300. I just picked up a 99 q45 yesturday and love the car. I want some new wheels, but im in college and on a budget. Ive always liked the way stern wheels look and i was wondering what you guys would think about them.
And a few "positive/helpful" responses
maxnix wrote: Never heard of them. Weight, offset, strength, hubcentric? Why the donk look unless you like donk performance? 18" are plenty large but still fit an OEM specified tire.
lino wrote:I agree with tech, maintenence for me always comes first.

Regarding the wheel upgrade, I'm sure some other members with Y33 Qs will chime in and share their thoughts.

Here is a thread you can look through to get some ideas:zerothread/276707

Welcome to Nico!

gabe wrote:Stern Wheels? Never heard of them, but if you like them and they fit go ahead. Im running 245-45-18's on 18x8's.

BTW. my 98 with 112k has been pretty much maintenence free. Regular oil changes since I bought it off of a family member in 02. Other than that I replaced front rotors and pads last Novemeber for the 1st time since Ive had it.

Check out the "show us your ride" thread 97-01 Y33. There are a bunch of cars like ours with different wheels and what not.
Don't let it turn into the vicious spew the original one did

Rex, not sure you did him a favor by removing the thread.....without comments pro/against changing to a 19" wheel/tire combo, many young inexperienced drivers/owners look at only the WOW factor of the big shiny wheels without knowing or understanding the significant drawbacks created by going to a much larger heavier wheel/tire combo

It took more time to "find" the useful parts in some of the posts.

All the name calling and bitching back and forth, is what needed to be removed.

I think the point is, one needs to identify a tire first that will work on any particular car which at the very least meets minimum OEM, then find an appropriate wheel that meets OEM minimum specifications.

The fan boy obsession with static looks is irrelevant to on road performance. Weight, strength, offset, hub centricity are what is critical, not fake rivets and chrome.

He asked plain and simple if you knew about Stern wheels. That was his question.

The information regarding OEM diameter, weight, load, etc is all here if he chooses to search, or can be provided if he were to ask.

He asked about Stern, that's the purpose of this thread PLEASE.

Exactly!! I hate when people comment with remarks that has NOTHING to do with the thread. I remember people were saying the guy wasn't smart with his money because he wanted rims on his car.

Exactly. That's what made me jump into it. He said that he knows luxury cars and that his Q checked out mechanically. I told him to go for it if there are no other pressing matters.

Notice how he hasn't come back to his own thread. He's probably saying "**** NICO" right now.
