A towel that is lightly dampened from wiping up some water provides a very easy streak free shine on the windows. The only reason I ever use any kind of a cleaner (Quik Detail) is because I keep it around for more stubborn stuff and it happens to be in a spray bottle. Otherwise, water works great for windows. I haven't used a window cleaner since the 90's. Except for hard water spots, water is a perfectly good window cleaner.
For the inside I rarely use anything but a towel in the morning (a little bit of dew in the morning most of the year). On the outside I use Stoner.
I have been thinking of getting one of these at Walgreens (ten bucks) since I find it hard to get the window clean at the bottom. My other car is much worst (300 m) as it has a much bigger window. Wish I had one of these for my 68 Ford Galaxy fast back when I had it for the rear window. What a nightmare that window was.
Good for your Mom, just wish I still had one (or Dad) to get me nifty things.
