Does anyone know how to clean those reusable cone filters? Do I just rinse it in water?

I would be more concerned in figuring out how to clean everything PAST the cone filter {intake, plenum, motor} as most of the dirt injested from the air passes right through those type filters- best to junk it and return to stock nissan paper filter if engine longevity is important to you

Or even performance. The OEM CAI is more than adequate for performance and OEM filters will protect your eingine better than any cone.

Just like what Maxnix and Qship96 says OEM filter is a better performing filter. I'll be more concerned about those oil spitting cone get into my MAF. Stock up on those OEM filters and it's cheap.

These are just your guys' personal preference and repeats of what others have said.

I think if someone wants to get an intake and have a cone filter for their Q, they should. They shouldn't be talked down as to what the oil is gonna do or what ever.

For instance, I'm going to take out the air filter and all the tubing and install an K&N air intake myself. I like the sound/the look, my decision. If the car runs slower let it be our problem.

Thanks

Ya. I love my filter. I get that "boom" sound like muscle when I floor it, and like 3 HP. Is anyone going to answer the original question though

Your welcome! But your engine will not apprecieate the extra heat of hte engine bay and will lose 20 - 30 HP depending on temperature, the MAF wire sensor will fail much sooner but not before it gives erratic information to your ECU, and your engine will have significantly shorter life as the large particles of contamination will doom it ot a much earlier death.

So welcome to a slower, shorter lived car!

But it sure will sound kewl! Vrooom vrooom!

Getting a CD with those kewl sounds wouild be much better for your cars.

Don't forget te replce the playing card in your spokes also!

Both autozone and advance auto parts have oiled filter cleaning kits. Look for the K&N brand, comes with cleaner and filter iol.

Also ignore the previous posts that are negative. They are right about filter effectiveness but add a grating, offensive quality that ensures that people think they are jerks.

Its your car-do as you like.
