Washed the car yesterday and backed it into the garage and went to work!

It took me a total of 7 hours and about 3 gallons of sweat... but the end result was amazing! The clay bar was nearly black when i got done though and then I applied wax, and then polish on top of the wax... the result? A really really rich shine that I have never seen on my car until last night...

I got pics too (these are now daytime pics... I got the point... jeez)

so there are the pics i promised... everyone happy now?

Sweet! Clay bars are definitely FTW!!!

Next time, apply the polish to the paint, then wax.

Cleaning your G like that should be enough motivation to get out of the house just to show off the shine, let alone take pictures outside.

But yeah, you want to polish then wax. You essentially took the wax off with the polish and threw about an hour and a half's work away. And if your clay bar ended up completely black, you might need to wash more often.

Looks good so far.

I really don't know how to do any of this stuff. I guess thats why my paint always looks like ***. I just take it to one of those auto car washes once a month or two.

Check out our detailing forum. The moderator Prinz knows his stuff.

Dude, auto washes are the worst thing ever for your paint.

I know. But I really lack time and shade to do these kind of washing. I work 50 hours a week and live in an apartment complex. Auto wash just gets rid of my neglect....

eh its a pretty nice neighborhood... but the HOA gets to be a pain in the *** when my friends, who have fairly loud cars, come by... Its not as bad now because now all the younger kids have their license and most of these chicks around here have the modification bug. This girl that lives behind me has a pretty nice lexus IS300 which is up there in the high db range, so i guess the neighborhood is adapting; and then also the nosy neighbors; haha can't forget them

Nice job!

For those with white cars...is it really worth doing a clay bar job?? Will there be that much of a difference in shine?
