FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. — Authorities said Tuesday that an Air Force recruiter is in the hospital after being stabbed with scissors at an Armed Forces Career Center in southwestern Illinois.

Fairview Heights police Lt. John Proffitt said the 27-year-old recruiter, whose name was not made available, was tending to a male visitor about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday and turned his back to retrieve paperwork when the man stabbed him.

The recruiter’s injuries are not considered life-threatening. His medical condition was not immediately available Tuesday.

According to KSDK-TV of St. Louis, a suspect, believed to be a male who is about 20 years old, remains at large.

The Fairview Heights career center houses recruitment offices for all four service branches, with each service having a separate entrance into the building.
And of course it happens the day my old recruiter in Collinsville was trying to get some sh1t done for me and the recruiting services sent all the recruiters home that day.

Perhaps the suspect was demonstrating to the recruiter how he'd be a "cut above" the rest of the recruits.

It was probably a recruit who wasn't happy with his job.

My dad was an army recruiter for 8 years of his 20 year serving term.

He has never had anything like this happen to him.

I met a lot of the recruits, he put a s*** of people in the army during those 8 years. I mean, a s***. Boxed every month, and that says A LOT compared to other recruiting stations.

I have never heard anything like this before. My father was never harmed while serving as a recruiter.

I suspect this person did not want to hear what he was saying, or had some other intentions besides wanting to join the military. There may of been a dispute between this recruiter and some other people related to the man that stabbed the recruiter.

Hes not at large, they have his full documentation if in this process.

I LOL'd.

I've met a bunch of good recruiters. But oh, I've met enough lying snakes to sour me on them.

Recuiters... I've known a few. My recuiter who got me into the Air Force never lied to me, HOWEVER, he sure did lead me into making a few misconceptions about several things. TSgt Jessie Rhodes... I still remember you (August 1982).

Agreed, most of them seem to misrepresent the truth. It sucks when you listen to them. All they are is salesmen. The contracts all say that the contract nullifies any verbal contracts made. So, the recruiter can say anything they want...
