Does any one know how i can aquire a letter from the vehicle manufacturer, recognized car club or a collector organization attesting to the vehicle’s limited production status. Must be printed on official letterhead so i can apply for the NJ state collector vehicle sticker to exempt from state inspection ?

Wow, you have to prove the cars limited production numbers in your state?in wi, the car just has to be 20 years old and not your only registered car. Nothing to do with the production numbers.

Plus, if the car's been modified it's a different plate all together.

Send an email to [email protected] and ask him if he'll type something out for you real quick on letterhead. It shouldn't be a problem at all. I know he got his car set up the same way for the state of AZ based on the collectible status and this forums work to catalog and recognize it's collectibility.

Just as super nice... and don't expect a reply the very next day... I know Greg is beyond swamped right now.. so it might take him a while to get back to you.

This has got me thinking, It would be super cool, if the site could set up a certification process and for a small fee like $5-$10, Make vehicles be able to be NICO Certified, meaning the VIN is registered on NICO with the Production number, Color Code, current location, And once a Vehicle is registered with Nico the Owner of the car gets a certificate mailed to them with all the info and with facts about the car like how many were produced each year, how many in each color, and anything else that would add to the rarity of a car (like they only came in automatic).

Cars could be Nico Verified by submitting pictures of the vin and the ASC #, all 4 sides and 2 interior picks.

I know I would be interested in this and would LOVE to have something like this to display at car shows, I have something similar to this but its not anything official, and if anything something like this might help with all the What kind of car is this questions I seem to get at every show, because a lot of people didn't even know they made a vert

Derek,

That is an incredibly fantastic idea!

I will work on making that happen.. But it might take a little while to make headway as we're planning a software change on the forum in the very near future..

But, stay tuned for updates!

Sweet!!!, yeah I would love to frame it and put it under the hood right now I have 4 different vert ads from car and driver mag from 1992-1993, and the dealership brochure from 93, and what I have in place of something like this is my copy of my dealership affidavit saying the 27K miles are original miles and a sheet listing the facts on the 240 framed in the same frame but something more official looking would def be better to make the claims seem more ligit, exp in shows where their is a Rarity Award
