So, on Monday I'm going to be purchasing an 88 Mini Mayfair... I"m totally pumped for it... my husband though says this is the last car he's buying for me. which makes me sad but i want a job anyway.. i mean a woman can make only so many sammiches in one day. However I love the color combo.. he thinks it's ugly. I don't care much about his opinion cuz it's going to be my car but i thought i'd share since i'm so excited!

Once we're back in the states we plan on buying a kit that makes a Honda b series motor and transmission direct bolt in haha

Reminds me of one my friend had when I was over in Germany. We could park that thing almost anywhere...it was a blast.

Oh, and if this guy needs to drive it you might want to say no...

The fuel tank placement on those scares me.

If I had the money, I'd buy my wife her mini.

I'm poor, though, so all I can do is slap new wheels on her Tidda. :frown:

Ya we bought a Mini through a Military buying program when we first got here... It was fun to drive but I couldn't stand all the electronics and such in them. they wouldn't have been so bad if they worked better. Like the rain sensing wiper blades were horrible. They were either too slow or too fast or just didn't go. After we got a 335i and saw what BMW actually does with all the components that were in the mini we realized that the Mini's components were just dumbed down from BMW's. So i'm excited for a classic and we are going to bring it back to the states the only sad part is that i have to get rid of one of my cars.. so my 91 200sx has to be sold cuz the Protege5 is a better family car. makes me sad but I have an s12 back in the states waiting for restoration.

I favor this. Mark Cannon (one of the Datsun guys on this forum) bought one and loves it.

the halloween orange trim pieces is love-it-or-hate-it, but the original mini's are great little cars. I have a former neighbor that had a stock one many years. Very fun.
