Bastard.

"The last time Nissan did a GT-R, it was based on the old two-door Skyline saloon. The company couldn’t do that this time round because the current Skyline saloon is too ghastly."

Hello,When I read that yesterday, all I could think about was that sentence as well. I do not think Top Gear is going to be lavishing praise on the Infiniti's when they start reviewing them. Then again, I am sure they will get off on the fact that the cars in Europe will have special features. Strange considering the 350Z was quite well reviewed on the show and the magazine.Cheers,M.L

They were showing repeats of Top Gear here a few months ago before the new series started a few weeks ago, and I remember seeing their intial take/review of the 350Z. They were going on and on and on about how the US had stole all the preorders from Nissan and that the UK had missed out on intial shipment so they couldnt roadtest one, but they just kept raving about how great a car it was, and considering the G and Z are one and the same, it makes little sense.

Maybe they were referring to the 'ghastly' looking 03 sedan (saloon = sedan right)? *ducks away from sedan owners* I will say this though, the 03 sedan was not well recieved by Skyline enthuis at all, and perhaps it just didnt float their boat either.

I find the review weird though. Maybe its just his English sarcasm, but he makes out like the car is incredibly boring, yet incredibly amazing at the same time. Call a spade a spade, if you think its great why not just say it in a way that actually makes sense.

not really he said exactly how i felt about the car. yes it is crazily engineered. yes it is fast and very in control, but the thing is there is so much of the car doing stuff for you that you dont feel like your driving it hard, and honestly what is the fun in that? I like feed back from my car when im driving it hard. I feel the same way about the gt-r as the evo VIII through X. They put to much dam computer stuff into the driving parts of the car. i dont need auto pilot when i go to drive my card in a hard manor. im driving it hard so that i can get some G's and away from the montamy of normal driving.

a practical daily driver that can drop an enzo, now theres is a concept. and yes for clarkson it is probably easy as **** to drive it. for the average person who hasn't tested some of the rawest super cars in the world i think it would be quite a joy. and for the average woman, its far far un-drivable.

I really beleive the GTR is going to remain for a time to come a technological and economic marvel. Porsche would be buying a GTR to study how the hermetic Japanese Engineers came so close to flogging the last of their pride in the Porsche GT2.
