Hey, all. Long time no see. Thought I'd drop in on ya all and make a post in case some of you were wondering if I'd done kicked the bucket yet. Well, the good news is, here's the post.

This past weekend, on Father's Day, I entered Clare in a car show put on for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The car show, called . Cruisin' Towards Cures For Campers, hasn't been around for too long, but I went down to support a cause and not to get Clare in the spotlight.

Read more information here.

I have lots of pictures, and I don't know if I'll load them up all, but there were some cars that I liked and you'll at least see those. We didn't stick around for the whole show and left before the winner was announced, but I've said it once, and I'll say it again. I don't give a damn about trophies. That's not what this car was built for. It was built to enjoy, and that's what I, my wife, my kids, my grandkids and my friends have done.

I'll start off with this picture.

This is Carri Wilborn, who you've hopefully read about in the link above, taking a seat and fastening up in Clare to take her for a little spin.

That smile on her face was worth letting her behind the wheel.

And here's a picture of my wife of 36 years next to one of the banners. I owe her thanks as she's stood by and let me get this car done the way I wanted while dropping more and more money into it. But, she's been supportive of my dream. Love ya, hun!

Image

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about all the pictures, but I'd like to point out a few that I really...REALLY...liked.

1967 Jeep M715.
Dana 60 in the front converted to 8 lug, factory Dana 70 in the rear converted to 8 lug.
Chevy big block (if I remember right) power plant.
When he pulled in, he was talking to the event organizers discussing a place to park. I flagged him over to the space next to the wagon.

And, here she is rubbing elbows...errr...ummm...bumpers?...with some Hooters girls.

All in all, it was a good weekend. Also got to see my sister-in-law, as well.

Ya'll take care now, ya hear.

Sweet Pea was done to the "Nines" and the dash was one I had not seen before. A top notch truck all around. And how about the white shall I say "roadster". I liked the power plant under its hood. The V6 Nissan 3000, that caught me off guard. I would like to get more people to join me next year at the show. it would be a fun drive over and a good time, plus it helps out kids with MD go to camp, so it is a win-win all the way around. so how about it people. Just click their link and check it out.

The black Impala and Chevelle are both gorgeous. So is the Yenko suburban.

I love the 5 window pickup.

By the way, Clare now has a full Flow Master Exhaust with model 40’s. The pipes exit at the rear bumper tips and curve down and out. A sweet sound. Just like we talked about.

Awesome :mike :yesnod

Were you able to clean up the black stuff on the paint from where the exhaust used to exit?

Yes that is gone. A storm is rolling in and I plan to head down to the Railroad Days Car Show at the Court House. So I must be going. Wish us luck on just a small storm, later all.

Hey, all.

Just thought I'd pop in and let ya in on a little somethin, somethin.

Got word last week that the results for the MDA benefit car show were in.
Guess what?

In a testament to the work that Rockin Rick did on the ole girl...

1960-1969 Modified class
First Place

While some people who win trophies or places in car shows may be super happy, I see it more as that I am proud to have been able to attend this show that was put on for a good cause. My participation was to help out kids that don't have as many of the opportunities as other kids who don't have this disease.

While I am happy that I took first place, that doesn't hold a candle to the feelings I had just for being able to be in the show to help out kids in need.

Thank you, Rick, for all the work you did to make it possible for me to attend the MDA benefit show.
