Yea, its been cold and I've been a pus. Most the time I have been working and in my spare time I am building a japanese style bed. Nice wood. No nails or screws, all biscuits. Its alomst done. Im painting it a nice exspresso color to match my night stands and dresser. Here is a pic before I painted it. Its not crazy complicated, but I like it. I still have to come up with some sort of headboard.

Anywho, not to much of an update. Im just getting into the swing of working on my car again. Here are some tension rods I got from BP. Thanks man. I started installing them today but my wrench broke.

Lastly, I installed my new radiator. Not to hard and took about 1min, but it looks nice.

Tomarrow I am takeing notes from a buddy on wireing. That will probly be most of the future updates. Wireing needs to get done!

Ill garage=crooks. Sold me a motorset and upon start-up it destroyed the head. Turns out they left a bolt in the combustion chamber when they had the motor apart. Didn't help me out at all.

But your build looks nice man!

Thats cool man I'm glad. I noticed your not too far away from me, maybe in the summer when I get the duece for oh running, we could go cruising sometime? I'm always down for a good cruise, especially with another 240 on account of there isn't too many around my parts lol.

Actually we sold you a full CA18DET motor set (motor, block, , full wiring harness and stage 4 clutch) for $500 AS IS! We told before you got it started to get the head inspected and because we didn't know much about CA's, that you should probably get the lifters shimmed. I guess since you are a CA expert, you said that they don't need to be and decided to start it up anyway.

Also we said the motor was sold as is and NO warranty, however since it was a bum situation and we did feel remorse, we offered to get whatever parts you wanted at OUR cost. Maybe some of those prices weren't as low as you figured. Might give some of you guys out there what type of margin's and discounts there are.

Again, sorry for any problems you have gone through. We try our best to make every customer happy.

I payed 800 plus tax for the motorset, not 500.

The lifters require no shims, therefore, nothing should have needed to be done.

The harness you sold me was jank, maf connector cut off and other essential plugs missing and taped into the bulk harness.

Your discount on parts was the same price joe public would pay for them off the internet, so what good is that gonna do me?

I understand, used motor, as is, blah blah blah. That isn't what upsets me. What upsets me is your shops abilitly to flat out lie.

Sorry to rant CJ, I've said my piece and like I said before, this was my bad experience.

I stand corrected it was $800. Sorry, it was a while ago.

But what exactly did we lie about? If I bought a motor that had and questions about it, it would have been torn down for inspection. At least a leak down. We said the motor should be inspected. I don't know how much clear we could have been.

Again, our prices are what they are. We get great deals on certain parts and not so great deals on others. It is what it is, but whatever the case was, we tried to make it right. Even though you are still bitter, we are still willing to offer the same deal. If there something you are interested in purchasing, give us a call and we will still offer our original agreement. If not, we're sorry we weren't able to accommodate you.

I have my chassis wireing diagram all done up. I sat down yestarday with a good friend of mine and we drew a couple wireing diagrams. For starters we just drew up the chassis. When everything is working properly, I will start on the engine harness. I will post pix later.

As i said before, I really like ILL Garage. They answer all my questions in a polite manner and they have good prices. I would recomend them to anyone.

This was saturday, but for some reason i couldnt log into my account on here all weekend. anywho...

I'm feeling good. Had a productive day. Started the day off by fixing my buddies Audi. Then worked on the drift car. I installed the tension rods. Fit like a charm.

Before

After

Then I put my new lugs on when I put the wheels back on.

While installing the rods I noticed my tie rods are f***ed up! I planned on buying stance super angel kit, but now im wondering about funds. Unsure what im gona do.

So, a buddy and me started wireing today. The plan was to get the grounding done for the chassis. Got it done. 1st I made a diagram with a buddy. Kinda hard to see but you get the point.

I made a drifters work bench(made of tires. LOL, ahhh i know i know, gay joke.) we started in the trunk. I will have more close-ups later. It got kinda dark and was hard to see the harness. I tucked it all so you wont see the finish product.

Then we moved to the front. Im missing my blinkers so I gotta get those to finish this but I got the rest done.

Soon, maybe tomarrow I will start with the power. I have the grounding done and the battery is charged so now im just gona go through one by one lableing wires for which light. When its done I will pull out the harness and take pix. Should all be tucked. Once the chassis harness is done and working perfect, I will start the engine harness.

Im getting excited! Its getting closer!

Well, I was gona order alot of stuff today, but bad news hit me. My Audi's (DD) turbo is dieing. There is oil all over under the turbo. Also, I took my intake off and there is oil in my intake. So this is a big problem, and I need to buy a new turbo. Id love to go bigger, but cant afford 2 project cars. I cant really afford this one project.

On a good note, got my AEM WideBand

last night was kinda fun. I got alot figured out with wireing. Well, I said I had all the grounding done. Here is a pic of the black ground wire running across the trunk. It is tucked under that metal, but I pulled it out so you can see it.

Got some masking tape and a marker so I can lable which wire powers what. Worked perfect. Made my night.

I took my battery and I grounded it. Then I wrapped a wire around the positive side.

Now its time to start touching wires and see what lights up.

Then I labled them all

Here is the trunk all labled

Now time to go to the front and do the same. Getting tester ready.

Here is one of the headlights.

I am a little confused on the headlights. I understand that there is a headlight and a high beam. But there is a dim headlight, bright headlight, and a highbeam. Both the dim headlight and bright headlight use the same bulb. I dont understand why. What is the dim one for?

Tomarrow or saturday I am going to make the dash and switch bord and start running the power wires. If there is time, by sunday, I would like to have the chassis done. I dont think I can get it 100% done cause I dont have blinkers up front, but hopefully I can change that fast.

Im super happy! Chassis wireing is almost done! The rear harness is 100% done. The front harness is as done as it can be until I get the sockets for the blinkers and running lights. So thats 95% done.

Well, I mentioned before that the turbo blew on my DD. I bought a new KO3 from Borg Warner. It came today and I am gona install it tomarrow.

First, I finished my bedframe. There still is no headboard, but I like it as it is and I am focusing on my car.

I quickly made a switch panel. Its nothing crazy but it works for me. When its 100% done I will paint it. I originally made it out of AL, but it was to flimsey and made me mad. I went out and got thicker steal and this works well. I have most of my switches installed.

Put some ends on a battery cable.

After it was all mocked up I removed the switch panel and laid the switches on the floor for testing. Here is my kill switch connected to my fuse box.

Here is a crappy pic of the wires going through the fire wall. I labeled all the wires in the front, middle, and back so everywhere that has connections.

Here is the rear harness. It is done except the reverse light. I haven't decieded on what to do about that. I am going to wrap it once its all done and I am going tuck it up and zip tie it into place so its nice and hidden.

I am finishing the front harness.

Here you can see the harness come out of the fire wall. I drilled a hole through the frame and rain it into there. Then it pops out the front for the entire front harness.

Even though the switch panel isnt mounted again and the wires at the fuse box arent all 100% connected. But I connected a few things and tested them. Turned out HOT! I am super happy

Running lights

And the brights

Tomarrow, put new turbo in the audi and finish the chassis wireing! No work cause its good friday. I am going to scan my wireing diagrams I made. I just need to scan them in first.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, i started a thread a couple weeks ago about how I had oil in my intake so I deduced that my turbo seals had blown and is shooting oil into my intake. I was right. I bought a new Borg Warner turbo From ECS tuning. Thank you very much Chris. Shipping was amazingly fast. I started tare down on friday and it took no time at all to take everything apart. I was surprized at how easy it was. I haven't done much work with german cars. I work on Japanese cars more, but in the mechanical world, everything is relative. I laughed a little when I took out my O2 sensor because it was covered in ash from the burning oil.

I would say it took me about an hour to remove everything but the oil return. Then it took me 3 hours to remove the oil return line. There was lots of curshing, and throwing my tools. It might have been easier to remove my AC condenser, but I didn't want to. In the end I went to the store and bought a set of allen head sockets and I got it in 1 min.

There was oil everywere and I cleaned up the best I could. You can see how dirty the old turbo was when I set it next to my new one.

I installed the new turbo in no time flat and started her up.

It was weird to not have an open radiator to fill after I installed everything but I filled the overflow tank and filled the car with new oil. I first unpluged the injectors and the coils and I turned the key for 10 sec a couple times to run oil through the new turbo. Then I pluged everything in and let it start. It ran good and I turned on the heat in the car to let the coolant flow everywhere to make sure it coolant got everywhere. The turbo started to smoke and I got a little nervus but then I remebered that they are covered in oil so they dont rust in transit. I also called ILL Garage just to check and they agreed. After a couple min. the smoke stopped. I let it run for 20min at idle while I cleaned up. Then I took it for a drive and everything runs smooth and drives great. I'm super happy. Thanks Chris at ECS Tuning : )

My only real complaint is with the engineering with Audi. I wish I was in a meeting with the audi engineers back in the day when they were planning these cars. When they said, " what kind of bolts should we use?" and another stupid engineer said Allen head, I would jump over the table and strangle him. That is the dumbest, most frusterating thing ever!

I haven't worked on the S13 much cause I have been so busy, but 2 more gauges came for me : )

The only gauge I dont have that I would like is my speedo, but that is $280, so that can wait till after the car is done.

Ahh the 1.8t. I know excatly how you feel. My battery went completly dead on my A4 and i had to go and buy a set of allen head sockets just to remove it.

Plus you would not belive how big the batteries are for the 1.8t's they are f***ing huge.

Nice build and good progress. Interested to see how the car will run with the tune. I am going for a tune soon and I was considering going to ILL garage for the dynodynamics dyno. Make sure to post how the tune turns out and hwo the cars drivers in all gears, and all loads.

I have replaced my battery. It sucked. I have also had a dead coil. A huge electrical problem that turned out to be my central control locking unit. And now my turbo. I have only owned this 99 A4 for 8 months. But i dont regreat buying this car. It is super fun to drive and an amazing car in winter.

I am SR24DET, but I havent been able to login sence the new format. I have emailed the admin 3 times but nothing as been done. Anywho, this will be my new SC.

So i was gona wait till i did a bit more to update but Im board now so I figured I would post it up.

Rear wireing for the chassis is done. Here it is laying across the trunk.
Image

Then I tucked it up under the metal. Its hard to see but its there.
Image

Started removeing my old tierod. Both the inner and outter were blown. And the boot was destroyed.
Image

Here is my new OEM inner tie rod and my Megan outter tie rod. I was planning on going with the stance super angle kit, but replaceing my Audi turbo hurt my wallet, Alot. I will go to stance some day.
Image

The ball joint is completely crap
Image

I removed it. I have nothing good to say about the crappy C-clamp tool that I rented from advanced autozone. Its like a f*** game of jinga while your trying to push it out. s*** kept falling out. A 3rd hand would have been nice. That or a better designed tool that snaps together or has magnets. But got it done in the end.
Image

Installed new tierod assembly. Looks nice. I just hope it holds up for a bit. The thing I like is how the outter is spaced up for lowered cars. But I know Megan isnt top of the line or anything, but I will have nice stuff some day.
Image

Well, I installed the new ball joint and when I went to put the castle nut on I knoticed the threads were all f*** up and the nut wouldnt go on. I had to remove it and install the one I bought for the other side. Once that one was installed I realized it was just as blown as the old one. Crap. So I returned them and the other day I just got the new ones. They look good but I haven't installed them yet.

The mail came and I got my new 744cc injectors from Oots. Thanks buddy. I really needed these.
Image

I also got my test pipe but I didn't take a pic of that yet.

I installed my new circut sport coolant overflow tank. I still need to run the line from the radiator, but that will come. I am also moching up my oil catch can. Hope to have that done soon.
Image

The chassis wireing is complete as it can be until I get my blinkers. I am so happy with how it turned out! Now I started planning the engine harness. Cant wait to get that done and get this thing started. Plus I found a place in town to make my roll cage for ghetto super cheap. But the guy is nationally famous for nascar cages so I know he does good. work. Cant wait till he can fit me in his schedule. After the cage is in I plan to paint it the same color as my valve cover.

I finished up the front end. These new ball joints went in fine and worked great. I also finished installing the tie rods.
Image

Here is the exhaust all laid out.
Image

I would like to get that thing on. I dont think its gona bolt right in. Anywho. I am not sure about tomarrow night, but I am going to spend alot of time on it this weekend. I want to finish piecing together the rear suspension links. I also wana get a start on the engine harness which is last.

^Thanks man. I really apreciate it.

I need 2 things BAD!
1.) I need all 4 lights & sockets that go into the silvia blinkers. People say the stock ones fit, but they dont.
2.) I need a Z32 MAF & harness clip.

I need these ASAP! If you have em. Hit me up

So yea, I havent worked on my car for a while cause I had nose and throat sergery. I had my nose passage ways drilled bigger so I can breath better. I had 0% breathing in my left nostril and less then 10% in my right. I also had my uvula removed. Ouch.

anywho. I took my stock harness and laid it out and connected it to what I'm going to use. Then I am going to modify the harness and install it tucked. I hope this doesnt take too long. I also bought a Z32 MAF. I was trying to think about how I was going to fit my exhaust. I am also trying to make sure my manifold doesnt crack when it heats up. ryans13 answered both my questions in someone elses thread. Thanks bud :)

Today I just picked up 3' of 3" exhaust flexpipe. I dont plan on useing all 3', but this way I know I have enough. I bought it from the semi shop in town. Good place. Now I just need to cut and fit the exhaust. Cant wait to get it on. This way it should be easy to fit it, and take stress of the manifold to prevent cracks. Thanks ryan. I plan to work on the car more and will post pictures soon. Hopefully I it will start soon. Need to make it to the drift day on may 16th.

^ LOL ahhhh, racking in the paper. Thanks, I havent laughed that hard in a long time. I work at a semi-small company where I am a CAD Designer/CNC Programmer. There are no engineers so I do alot of engineering work to. I love the company and my coworkers, but I get paid terrible. I have 10x the responsibility that a normal CAD Designer normally has, and I get paid half as much. I literally make a little more then I did as a personal trainer in college. O well, Im moveing to milwaukee and going to MSOE this fall so hopefully when that is done I will make good money. Mechanical engineering.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I really like it when people post.

ok, i need some wireing help. I drew out some wireing diagrams last night with a buddy, but today I was looking at the ECU pinout diagram, and now I have more questions. Here is the diagram

http://www.s-chassis.com/resources/wiki ... UKA24E.png

1- When it comes to wireing the Fuel pump, I thought I didn't have to connect it to the ECU. But when I look at the diagram, 104 is to the fuel pump relay. So... wtf?

2- I didn't think I had to connect the Starter to the ECU also. But #34 is the start signal. Im so confused. Im useing a push button start... I dont know if that matters.

3- #43 is power steering switch. Why do i have to connect that?

4- Why are there so many ECU Powers? #38, #47, #49, #59, #109
5- Why are there so many ECU Grounds? #39, #48, #50, #60

6- There are two wires running out of the alternator. What do I connect it to?

7- Do I connect the Speed sensor on the transmission to the ECU? I see #32 & #53 is for speedo.

8- Does anything other then speedo have to be connected from the transmission? I se there is a 5th gear switch. #45. WTF is that?

Sorry for all the questions, but I just wana make sure Im doing everything right.

This is how much I removed.

I didnt run any wires through the wheel wells. I ran it through a small hole in the bottom of the fire wall.
