okay guys, some of you may know me from a previous post, I was the guy looking to convert the Fiero to a countach, however in the need for a reliable car I decided to trash that idea and just get something a little more "recent"

I was looking for 240's, civics and anything that would be decent for $2000-$3000.

I found this one guys '95 civic, which had been modified with cold air, body kit custom interior and many more things. The boidy kit looked really good and so did the custom interrior. I talked with him for about three weeks and kept asking questions about stuff on the car. at which point he would give me some answers like "the front kit part is drooping on the driver side a bit but can easily be fixed" and little things here and there about the works on the car.

He was asking $4000 for it and I said I'd drive (FROM PURDUE) to pick it up. After a LONG traffic driven ride we finally get there. It pulls up and looks good from far, but far from good!!!

The thing is so lowered that he ends up bottoming out while he pulls up to me in the car. After some major inspection there were tons of **** that he didn't tell me about.. like there was a 4 foot crack in the windshield, air bags disabled, no horn, cruise controll knobs taken off, the back end of the kit was being held by a STRING!!!! AND MUCH MORE!!

I ended up taking it for a small spin to humor him and to see how it ran. As I exited the shopping mall I bottomed out so badly that I thought I left the rear of the car at the mall!!! I drive around a sec and go back to the car...

ANYWAYS needless tp say I didn't buy it, for $4000 I can get something a crap load better thn that. this thing looked as though it was going to fall off just getting on the high way.

MY FINAL NOTE: I LIVE IN INDIANA, AM LOOKING FOR A GOOD RELIABLE CAR FOR $3000 (MAX). PLEASE HELP ME OUT..

Sincerely,Darwing

Dont buy any car that has been modded. They are most likely ragged out, and raced (what these kids consider racing).

just my $.02.

Good luck with finding a good car.

^--I'm with him on this one. Lots of guys like to trash their car, and substantially decrease its value by doing pointless "mods".

any motor mods to it? Or was it just ricey? Perhaps he had three CA intakes on it...I'd have to agree with Jester on that, though I don't think I'd want one from most women, they don't "break in" the cars too hard usually, gotta have a hard break in so that sucker knows it's place...

I got my car from a 56 year old women in MIAMI. Only owner, engine is spotless and I doubt the car has seen 85 mph since I got it.

I also bought mine from a mid-age lady who bought the car brand new In 97. Since It's a base, It didn't come with a radio and she never put one In! She didn't change a god damn thing except for wheels and oil of course :-P Try to buy all stock... It's no fun working on someone else's project.

only downside i can see when buying a car from a woman is that more than likely it wasnt kept up with mechanicly like it probly should have been....no offense to the lady mechanics/car enthusiats on here:)

How do we make you go away?

:Werd to Nissanrcer. A lot of women tend to neglect the basic maintance of the car. However, it is impossible to get a perfect used car.

Yeah,Dont buy someone else's mistakes. This guy really sounds like he didnt car much for his car. If you need help, get Matt's brother to help. He is alway finding good deals on cars. I am sure that between Matt, Andy and myself we can keep our eyes open for something that is out there.

Yah, the lights are stuck in place and there is a crack in the windshield. Other than that, the guy had the Super HICAS and Limited Slip checked out at Nissan along with the motor. Overall condition is very good. No rust. I'm thinking about telling Darwing to give him 3000 cash for it. What u think?

I would give that. I mean headlights and a windshield are minor. Especially with only 93k miles. Just make sure he listens for that damn timing chain slap and he should be fine. Though if he is wanting the car for the drifting he would want to disable the HICAS.

dimmit i clicked on this thread thinking there would be a video of a civic blowing up or burning to the ground.

neway late model se-r and 240sx could be found for 1500-2K range which gives you money to show that civic guy proper tuning :)
