Just FYI, you don't have to turn on A/C for heat. When you set your temperature the first time and turn it to AUTO, the car will turn the A/C on. You can simply press the A/C button to turn it off and it will be that way until you turn the AUTO off and on again. It will save you some gas.83wildcat wrote:I think the improvement is because I'm no longer using my heat (which uses the A/C) and it hasn’t gotten hot enough to turn on the A/C. It will be interesting if I drop back down to 17 mpg in the summer when I run the A/C.
Here in Texas, I started to use A/C 2-3 weeks ago and the mileage dropped about 1-2MPG both on city and highway. But, now I am using the instant MPG screen more often and get about 18/22 (should be 19/24 without A/C), so I am happy now.
