over-torqued...

i bet none of you know how low the torque is on a ka drain plug... 22 ft lbs. its a plug bolt not a flipping head stud.

A magnetic drain plug should be considered a necisity in any car. If i recall correctly when i rebuilt on of my old sohcs, there was already a magnet from the factory in the oil pan. However a removable plug is the best idea so you can clean it from time to time. Anyone scared of putting one in their car soley based off of this thread is no more then a tard. Your drain plug should be a little more then snug tight, any more and your just asking for trouble. Not only with ithe chance of it shearing it off but, it would make it more of a pain in the *** to get off other times. Ive had one on all 6 of my 240's and never had any problems as far as the oil system is concerned.

Same thing happened to me. Overtorqued, and it lasted two oil changes. Mine broke partway down the threads.

Now I know .

Luckily I save f*** everything, so I still had my old drain plug.

I have Blox on my s13 and crx never had problems with em. First time I used it on s13 it had some dust metal shaving, now its been coming out clean on the magnetic drain plug. I would recommend people to get this for the oil pan. Cheap and easy just how we like em ha.
