I've seen too many people get scammed by places like this, so I've gotta chime in with my two cents. Generally, chains this large have their product bought up by a liquidation firm (as LBC said). The highest bidder to CC gets the honors (I don't know who picked up CC, but a google search will probably reveal it).
Again, as LBC said, it is this company's job to make a profit. So they are going to try to sell all of the crap they just bought from CC for the highest amount possible. They also know how gullible and naive many people can be, so they scam them. Nearly everything in the store will say 10% or 20% off right now. If you look at the sign, it will probably say mark off from "regular price". This could seem like a good deal, but what is regular price? I can tell you that the vast majority of the time it is NOT equal to circuit city's regular price. Seems illegal, but they get away with it because the regular price is Liquidation Firm A's regular price (which is conveniently higher than CC's price was). Early on in most liquidation deals, that item that is 10-20% off may actually end up being MORE expensive than it would've been at CC before liquidation.
Point is, do your research. Good deals are RARELY stumbled upon. Figure out what you need, and price it out at other stores. Then check the liquidation sale to see if it is actually cheaper. Deals can be had, but you've gotta be smart about it.
