I bought a salvaged 97 Y33 CIMA. There are several repairs I have to do on this car, most important is the replacement of a broken charcoal box, the driver side headlight, hood struts and an entire front bumper replacement. Fiscally, I can repair the charcoal box and the hood struts right now, but when I went to put in the new struts, I noticed the flanges were missing. Does anyone know how I could get those replaced? I already went to my local junkyard, but couldn't find any CIMA models. I know certain parts on certain Nissan models are interchangeable with the CIMA, but I'm not sure which would have this part. :gotme

Welcome to NICO!

Since many of us here are not familiar with the Cima, can you snap a picture of the flanges that are missing? The struts ought to be common between the Y33 Cima and the Q45. I replaced my hood struts a few years ago with some that I picked up Advance Auto Parts on sale. All of the parts I needed to do the replacement came in the package. I don't remember any issues.

I was told the CIMA WAS the Q45, but if they aren't one in the same, then it's a Q45, sorry for the mishap.

Basically those unpainted areas are missing, and I need to replace whatever was there. There was a tutorial posted here on replacing hood struts, and the author called them flanges.

Does it looks like Item #15 from the following parts diagram and description named Support Cylinder Bracket [left] and [right]?

Where are you located?

Amazing, simply amazing. I thought I wasn't going to find this part ever and have to prop open the hood with PVC for the rest of its life :chuckle:

A million thanks. I'm located in Highland, Ca.

One more question, where are those diagrams at? On the same site? I could use it so I can identify what pieces are missing and what to replace.

The parts diagrams are usually in the section listed in the hyperlinks. You can see the links to other areas of the site below. The prices are listed to the right.

There is an online parts seller in Scottsdale AZ that it might work out to cost less due to shipping costing less from AZ to CA.
