Hi,

Recently the door mirror is trying to open/close while driving. It is a 2007 CIMA with the GF50 frame.
The mirror closes when locking the car, and opens on demand when the key is put in the start socket, but I am guessing it is a faulty limit switch.
Are they easy to repair/ replace the switch, or do I just have to buy a replacement motor?

Most of Nissan's folding mirrors use encoders and motor current to govern movement, so it's rare for them to fail electrically. Mechanical failure of the slip mechanism is much more common. If it's healthy mechanically, I'd check the switch in the door and all the switch and mirror wiring before suspecting the mirror itself.

Thats odd because it opens and closes properly on demand, but every few seconds when stationary of driving slowly it will start the mirror motor then stop for a bit then keep repeating a few seconds of motor drive, so it is a separate switch somewhere as well? It is the japanese import model, but I believe most parts to be the same except for drivers and passengers side being left or right, and the switch embossing that I cant read.

The folding-mirror Nissans I know about all have a manual switch in the door to fold on demand, and they're usually controlled by either the BCM on models without Auto Drive Positioning or the ADP Controller on models with it. So there's always a bunch of wiring involved. While it's possible a bad encoder in the folding motor could cause a problem like that, as I said, it would be rare.
